Basic Level

To achieve the coveted black shirt, which set the more advanced and experienced students of WingChun apart, there are special requirements to guarantee the high quality standard of the IAW. Therefore, to test in the upper level is only allowed to those who regularly, at least 2 times a week, attend WingChun instruction. This consistent participation (for the past 2 years) must be confirmed by the responsible instructor before any examination. Furthermore, before any subsequent test, a screening by the training instructor must be passed. The preliminary examination (Pre-Test) evaluates both the current program and all programs of previous levels. Checklist before the 9 Student Level Test and higher graduations 1. Attend classes regularly for the past 2 years (to be confirmed in your Pre-Test). 2. Learn and practice the Combat Programs (training is offered quarterly). 3. Pre-Test with your training instructor (at least 4 weeks before the Test). 4. Acquire weapon combat abilities: • For advanced students, Escrima completes your skills and is a part of WingChun study. • For an Upper Level (9th-11th SL) test, you should first attend some Escrima classes. • For a Pre-Primary Level test, you should first reach the 1st Escrima Level. • For a 2nd Technician Grade test, you should first reach the 2nd Escrima Level. Upper Level
