In the following list you will find all teachers with the title "Sihing" or the distinction "Sifu" (see description below). You can confidently turn to these exemplary teachers of the first WingChun generation if you want to start your WingChun training.

Some of these teachers have been private students of Grandmaster, Sifu Klaus Brand, for many years and are accordingly marked with a red asterisk (*). Prospective students and group leaders of other styles (from all countries) who have interest in our WingChun can feel free to directly contact these private students of Grandmaster. Private students of Sifu Klaus Brand are regarded as the direct agents and representatives of the International Academy of WingChun ®.

Titles and awards in WingChun

Sihing / Sije

The titles "Sihing" (Male Teacher) and "Sije" (Female Teacher) are designated to a WingChun Assistant or Instructor. However, the Professional Training will not necessarily lead to the aforementioned titles. The minimum qualification is 9th Student Level. The title ”Sihing”/“Sije” may be awarded by the Grandmaster after a probationary period, either to an independent Group/Academy Leader or to an Assistant to one. Bearing the title requires continuous training for those Instructors, and thus a constant reference to their Grandmaster during their advancement.

With the end of teaching activities and the lapse of personal training the title expires of course.

Bearers of the title “Sihing”/“Sije” are among the most diligent teachers and consistent trainers of the International Academy of WingChun®. Via these traditional titles they are confirmed and acknowledged by their Grandmaster. At the International Academy of the WingChun®, Sihing/Sije (Academy Leader) are considered as aspirants to the title "Sifu".

Sifu

The title "Sifu" (Master) is the most weighty title in the martial arts field generally and is regarded as a recognition of the achievements of a highly successful Academy Leader who has achieved the WingChun Diploma. The bearer of the title "Sifu" is at least 3rd Technician Grade and has a long, uninterrupted activity as Sihing/Sije. The title “Sifu” is formally awarded by the Grandmaster and is held for life.
